Imagine a 303 on steroids – that’s exactly what we created with Semi Modular X (ASM1X). In collaboration with our friend AlphaDog, we enhanced the design with additional features like patch cables and polyphony. The result is a truly unique and versatile instrument. While the ASM1X has its roots in sequenced synth sounds, it stands out for its exceptional pads and leads, making it a hidden gem for producers. One thing is for sure – nothing else can replicate the signature sound of the ASM1X.
The heart of the ASM1X is its 202 filter, renowned for its self-oscillating resonance, precise tuning, and wide frequency range—from the sub-bass to the upper limits of human hearing. This filter has a powerful voice that can truly captivate. Most modules in the ASM1X support control voltage (CV), allowing for real-time modification of the signal path without audio glitches. The sequencer is equipped with a CV Gate/Note output and is compatible with ASM1X playback in note mode, monophonically or polyphonically.
