The Evolution Jazz Archtop brings you the iconic sound of the hollowbody jazz guitar, an essential part of traditional and modern jazz ensembles. The archtop guitar is also prominent in other musical styles, such as R&B, pop, Latin, and funk. The Evolution Jazz Archtop embraces all of these styles with its flexible and customizable approach.
The richly sampled Evolution Jazz Archtop features multiple looping effects in both directions and three dynamic layers for a wide range of expression. These features encompass articulations such as sustain, palm muting, fully muted notes, and natural harmonics. The library also includes advanced performance techniques such as legato articulations and effects such as string slap, divebomb, fret noise, and more.
In developing the Evolution Jazz Archtop, we collaborated with Rosewood Recording Company, one of Utah’s most respected recording studios. Guy Randle, owner and engineer at Rosewood Recording Company, uses analog audio equipment to skillfully shape and highlight the guitar’s rich tonal qualities. For sampling, Randle worked with Rich Dixon, an award-winning session guitarist, international performer, and teacher of jazz theory and improvisation.
